In 1971 after completing college and three years in the military, including a tour in Vietnam, Doug Harness decided to follow his father's footsteps as an agent for Farmers and build his own insurance agency. After almost 6 years as an Agency Owner, Doug decided to pursue a different career path and became a district manager for Farmers in April 1977. Now 35 years later, Doug has built one of the most successful district manager operations in the Farmers Insurance organization with 33 Agency Owners in 25 office locations throughout the metropolitan Portland area. Doug is proud that he has qualified for a number of awards in the Farmers organization including 5 prestigious President’s Council selections. But, he is most proud of the people in his district that have achieved personal and financial success in building their own insurance agencies. During his free time, Doug enjoys running, gardening and traveling.

A financial professional, Phillip Rosebrook is committed to providing clients the dedicated and individual attention necessary to help them achieve their financial goals. Phil is the District Life Insurance Manager and Trainer.
A graduate of Linfield College, Phillip has been in the insurance industry for three decades, and has earned the industry’s Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant designations from the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He is a member of the local chapter of National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
Phil’s expertise as a trainer includes being an instructor at Portland Community College where he taught insurance licensing classes in the fundamentals of life and health insurance and Oregon law, as well as continuing education classes in life insurance, and at The American College’s for their Life Underwriter Training Council courses.
Phillip brings his commitment, dedication and professionalism to helping agencies manage their Life Insurance Business.

Before joining Farmers, Lori Payne taught English Literature and Writing at Walla Walla College in Eastern Washington. In 1990 several major life changes occurred. Lori moved to Portland, where she married Chris, and joined Farmers Insurance as an Agent. Lori ran a successful insurance agency in Clackamas for 9 years. In 1999, she joined District 30 as the District Trainer for Personal Lines. She has set up a training curriculum to teach new Agency Owners how to run and manage successful insurance agencies. She also is the resource for anything about Personal Lines for District 30 Agency Owners and their staff. Since first coming to District 30, Lori's duties have expanded to include such responsibilities as Personal Lines Manager and Director of ITA, Oregon's first online insurance pre-licensing training school. In her free time, Lori enjoys golfing, reading and spending time with her family and dogs.

Dayna has been an Oregon native her entire life. She graduated from Linfield College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance. Immediately after college she worked within the mortgage industry in various positions including Chief Underwriter and Operating Manager for a non-conforming lender. She joined a managing general insurance agency 6 years ago, and has been involved in the insurance industry ever since. Her primary focus was commercial insurance with a specialization in workers compensation. When her employer joined forces with Farmers Insurance, Dayna moved to work for District 30 as the Recruiting Manager in 2004.
Dayna is a licensed Life, Health, Property & Casualty Producer. In her free time, Dayna enjoys running and spending time with her husband and 2 children.

Mike Stephenson has lived in Oregon for the past 17 years. He is a graduate of the University of Oregon with a B.S. in Business Administration as well as Economics. He spent 5 years in the aviation industry before joining Farmers as a Reserve District Manager. His background includes experience in business development, sales, recruiting, and training. Mike's hobbies include hiking, wakeboarding, and fishing.

Bekki Sorrell has lived in the Portland Metro Area her entire life. She has been with Farmers Insurance since 1999 as the District Manager Assistant and Office Manager for District 30. She provides administrative support for the District Manager as well as the other staff members. During her free time Bekki enjoys spending time with her family, playing with her daughter and reading.

Rena was raised in the Portland area. She's has been a part of the District 30 family since 2002, providing administrative support for both the Life insurance and Personal lines departments. She is dedicated to providing friendly, quality, and efficient administrative support to staff and Agency Owners. She has her Life/Health Insurance License. Rena enjoys volunteering for her local little league, coaching, playing sports and spending time with her two children.

Marilyn Harness is the newest member of the District 30 staff, joining the team in February, 2006. A native Portlander, Marilyn is a graduate of Pacific Business College and brings with her sixteen years of experience in the healthcare industry. Her specific areas of focus have been in strategic planning, quality improvements, qualified management and eight years of work with the foundations for five of Portland's largest hospitals. She manages special projects for District 30, and is specializing in working with small groups of Agency Owners on policy reviews and customer retention for their agencies.
